Happy Easter!

well, it was too cold for her this morning, so I had to bundle her up ....

... and after she came home from her errands she refused to remove her warm clothes for a long time, she was sooooo cold, and a cup of hot chocolate was most welcomed!!
But, she said, I really did a good job today!! Easter eggs look good in snow!!

Easter Eggs

This Easter Egg is a mini-patchwork-quilt,  7" x 11",

and these are little minis, I use them as gift tags, to achieve a good oval form I stretch and tie the fabric for the egg over a piece of heavy paper, iron it, put a ribbon underneath and then the little egg is ready to be appliquéd:

 and  I love this here:

From: It's The Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown! (1974)
Linus van Pelt: Every Easter the Easter Beagle comes dancing along with his basket full of eggs, which he hands out to all the good little children.
Sally Brown: That sounds faintly familiar. I remember sitting out in a stupid pumpkin patch all night waiting for The Great Pumpkin to come. That was the worst night of my life.
Linus van Pelt: But this is different. That was Halloween. This is Easter.

So, let's hope for the best! :-)

Im Café / At The Café

"Strangely enough, the first character in Fried Green Tomatoes was the cafe, and the town.
I think a place can be as much a character in a novel as the people."
Fannie Flagg

Well, not only in a novel I think!
For me a café IS a character,
it's just another one of these magical places,
where you feel very much alive!

My wallhanging shows:

my idea of a coffee bean

a tea leaf
(design: 501 Quilt Blocks, Better Homes and Gardens)

a sun bonnet, hung up for a while, or:
used in one of these lovely garden cafés...

a heart!

a cup with something hot and tasty in it

a lovely piece of Black Forest cake (well, there are two in fact, this is soooo delicious!)

a nice window

... and lots of books of course!! :-)

this is my quilt as a wallhanging, 64 x 64 cm, 25" x 25",
patchwork and appliqué,
completely handmade
The letters say "Im Café",
it's German for "At The Café"

Bin am Meer/ I Am By The Sea

"Who is staring at the sea is already sailing a little."

This is how I made the lighthouses:

all my dreams, come back to me!"

Bin im Garten/ I Am In The Garden

quilt as a wallhanging, patchwork and appliqué,
the letters mean "I am in the garden" in German and are patchwork as well,
25" x 25", all is handpieced and -quilted

I just wanted to make a quilt which reminds us of a place where many persons feel fine and are wholly themselves,
... a garden for example.

"Working in the garden ... gives me a profound feeling of inner peace. Nothing here is in a hurry. There is no rush towards accomplishment, no blowing of trumpets. Here is the great mystery of life and growth. Everything is changing. growing, aiming at something, but silently, unboastfully, taking its time."

Ruth Stout, American author of gardening books
